Rustenburg Addiction Care offers a comprehensive primary care programme. The formal programme is comprised of group therapies, individual counselling, written work and a psycho-educational lecture series. All clients work with an individual therapist who will guide them through the process, and they will be introduced to the 12 Step recovery programme.

  • On admission, all clients receive a comprehensive intake assessment, including a medical, nursing and, if required, psychiatric assessment. Medication will be provided to clients that need assistance with the initial stabilisation phase or if any underlying psychiatric disorder is identified.

  • After an initial investigation into circumstances contributing to the client’s addiction, the programme will then identify some of the mistaken beliefs that keeps the client locked into their addictive behaviours. Clients are provided with a concept of addiction that they can readily understand and accept; one which will make sobriety and recovery a meaningful and sustainable exercise.
